Millie Speaks ‘Your Authentic Life,’ is a unique speakers series, by women, for women providing participants with a forum to exchange ideas and share stories in a safe, empowering environment.
Your Authentic Life was the theme for the Millie Speaks inaugural conference. It took place in Toronto on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Arta Gallery offering over 15 speakers from around the world and hosting over 100 guests. Your Authentic Life was an uplifting event that brought women together to celebrate authenticity, vulnerability, and empowerment. A day of self-discovery and connection-building where women could be 100% themselves!
This marked a memorable chapter in both the Millie and JENNY BIRD stories. Jenny Bird, the visionary jewellery designer and Creative Director behind her eponymous brand, welcomed us into her studio for this exclusive talk.
Renowned for her fearless creativity, cultural insight, and commitment to championing women, Jenny has cemented her place as a leader in contemporary jewellery design. Her work is adored by forward-thinking, free-spirited women across the globe—yourself included!
The evening was a testament to her unique talent and generosity. Surrounded by thoughtful conversations and smart, insightful questions, we felt deeply inspired by her journey and passion.
A heartfelt thank you to Jenny for opening the doors to her creative sanctuary, giving us an insider’s glimpse into where the magic happens. This was truly a night to remember!
This was a night cherished in our hearts. Our first salon-style Millie Speaks was with Covergirl & Entertainment Reporter, Sangita Patel, kicking off with ‘Practice in Presence’ led by yoga guru, Tara Good. Sangita opened her heart up to us, sharing her Mantras and how she lives an authentic life while being in the public eye. The night included Middle Eastern canapés and cocktails made by Toronto chef Lindsey Shaw and more.
Our conversation with Noora Sharrab, co-founder of Sitti (meaning “my grandmother” in Arabic), highlighted the power of small steps and authentic relationships in empowering Palestinian refugee women. Noora’s story reminded us that, despite the miles between us, these women are our sisters, deserving of support and solidarity.
Thank you to Radford Studio for hosting this beautiful event and to Noora for opening our hearts and minds. You left us inspired to take meaningful action.
