Chelsea Brown is the founder of Millie, an organization that amplifies women’s voices, believing in the power of expanded perspective, connection and kindness to improve lives.
She is a social entrepreneur, podcast host, human rights and women's advocacy champion, and education equity activist. Chelsea sits on the International advisory boards of social enterprise Sitti and NGO Femme International, an organization that helps address the needs of menstruators in low-income communities. A Toronto native, Chelsea has lived in the U.K., USA and Canada and has travelled extensively. Her 15+ trips to Jordan with Millie provided clarity: ‘Only by forging relationships with people across the world can we improve it’.
To date, under Chelsea’s dynamic leadership, Millie has collaborated with 67 women globally, shared 36 WOC stories, created the Sitti x Millie scholarship campaign for women and girls, revived the Pin Project, and contributed over $22,000 to programs that facilitate access to education. She uses her creative ingenuity, passion for social enterprise, and gift for collaboration to develop one-of-a-kind products for the Millie Marketplace, partnering with Afghan fashion brand Zarif to create the Ikat tote bag for Afghanistan relief and with Femme International to produce African print dresses to end period poverty.
She also hosts and produces The Millie Podcast, introducing listeners to extraordinary women from around the world, interviewing thought-leaders like Elizabeth Anoinwe DBE FRCN, Sangita Patel, Lina Khalifeh, Pauline Schmidt, Nadine Kaadan and more.
