These slippers are handmade from 100% cotton fibre by local artisans in India using the traditional ikat weaving technique.
Auruhfy strongly believes in creating a system which helps artisans, and its nature to be sustainable by encouraging hand weaving, natural dyes, fair wages and (ideally) zero waste.Natural colours are used by the artisans to dye the fabric.
Elephants are considered a cultural icon throughout India and also help to maintain the virtue of the forest. Seen here is a different take on the classic polka print where instead of using the traditional plain dots, solid colored elephants with a circle around them to form the boundary, are used. Sole is also made of fabric.
