Braided Ikat Tote Bag- Afghanistan Relief

Zarif Design

$55.00

Made in collaboration with Zarif Design and handcrafted in Kabul, Afghanistan, our Ikat bags are created using limited run, hand-dyed fabric from Uzbekistan. Each bag is unique, with variations in design and colour courtesy of the artisan who produced the fabric. With vibrant patterns in colours inspired by nature, these practical and beautiful bags feature a bright, comfortable and braided over the shoulder strap and convenient inside pocket (which becomes a convenient side pocket when reversed!). Take this one of a kind IKAT bag with you to the farmer’s market and fill with fresh cut flowers or bring it with you sightseeing on your next adventure.

For every beautiful ikat tote sold, the proceeds will be donated to Women for Women International and back to the makers in Afghanistan at Zarif Design.

Meet the Maker

Zarif

Connecting and celebrating the crossroads of civilization.

The Inspiration

Zarif's collections are inspired by the beautiful Afghan landscapes, architecture and people. Each piece carries its rich cultural heritage with dignity and pride.

The Impact

Zarif was born out of a desire to change the world view of Afghanistan to celebrate its rich culture and geographic history and alter the commonly held perception of a war-torn country. As we learn and share from each other through our craft we empower our artisans to find pride in the culinary identity.
