Anne started at Zarif in 2007 as a trainee, but after one short year, she was quickly promoted to head Zarif’s women’s tailoring work. She is a fast and committed learner, and also knows when to take risks and innovate. She has great drive and work ethic and delivers, even in the most adverse circumstances.
Zarif's collections are inspired by the beautiful Afghan landscapes, architecture and people. Each piece carries its rich cultural heritage with dignity and pride.
Zarif was born out of a desire to change the world view of Afghanistan to celebrate its rich culture and geographic history and alter the commonly held perception of a war-torn country. As we learn and share from each other through our craft we empower our artisans to find pride in the culinary identity.
Conceptualized in collaboration with Zarif Design and handcrafted in Kabul, Afghanistan, the Millie unlined Esin jacket floral is designed to have a light, breezy and natural feel. Features roomy side pockets and a matching self-tie waist.
Each jacket is made from limited run silk-cotton ADRAS fabric and features a hand dyed ikat design from Uzbekistan. This exclusive ikat fabric is a symbol of prestige in Uzbekistan's culture and is called 'abr', a Persian term meaning cloud.
Esin is a Turkish name that means sudden inspiration or morning breeze – the perfect symbol for this airy robe-style jacket. We champion the handmade process and the use of limited run sustainable fabric to produce one-of-a-kind pieces.
