Millie Speaks ‘Your Authentic Life,’ is a unique speakers series – by women, for women – providing participants with a forum to exchange ideas and share stories in a safe, empowering environment. It fosters genuine connection, empowering women to uncover a better sense of self and unlock their potential. Women leave Millie Speaks events feeling motivated, moved and ready to ignite their passion projects – and their lives! In 2018 we hosted our inaugural conference at Arta Gallery in Toronto, with over 15 speakers and 100+ attendees.
Millie Speaks returned in 2019 holding three ‘salon-style’ talks offering attendees the chance to connect with a smaller group of 30+ women in unique Toronto venues. We cultivated a supportive and inspiring environment that empowered women to uncover a better sense of self to unlock our potential! Watch the RECAP videos in our archive below!
Your Authentic Life was the theme for the Millie Speaks inaugural conference. It took place in Toronto on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Arta Gallery. Your Authentic Life was an uplifting event that brought women together to celebrate authenticity, vulnerability, and empowerment. A day of self-discovery and connection-building where women could be 100% themselves.
May 28th, 2019 is a night cherished deep in our hearts. Our first intimate Millie Speaks with Covergirl & Entertainment Reporter, Sangita Patel, kicking off with ‘Practice in Presence’ led by yoga guru, Tara Good. Sangita opened her heart up to us, sharing her Mantras and how she lives an authentic life while being in the public eye. The night included Middle Eastern canapés and cocktails made by Toronto chef Lindsey Shaw and more.
Thank you for making October 2nd, 2019 a very special day in the Millie and JENNY BIRD books. Jewelry designer and Creative Director of Jenny Bird, is compassionate, fearlessly inventive, a champion of women, a cultural observer, a leader, a unique talent. A favourite of forward-thinking and free-spirited women around the world including YOU! We were left feeling incredibly inspired by all of the thoughtful, smart questions and energy during the discussion and evening. Thank you to Jenny for opening up your doors to us and giving us insider's access to the place where all the magic happens
Millie Speaks with Noora Sharrab, co-founder + CEO of Sitti Soap brought curiosity, openness and compassion. Sitti means 'my grandmother' in Arabic and this name brings to mind a grassroots, 'back to basics' approach and, really, that was what Noora was advocating. Small steps. Digging deeper. Forging authentic relationships. We realized that even though we are thousands of miles away from the women of the refugee camp (and women all over the world who need support), they are our sisters. Thank you Radford Studio for opening your beautiful space to us – it was a dream to bring this collaboration to life with you. Thank you Noora, who opened our hearts and minds, leaving the room feeling truly empowered
