I Slept in a Pod in Jordan’s Wadi Rum Desert and Things Got Weird
By Amanda Blakley, Contributor, Crumb Magazine
The hot desert breeze and late day sun beat down on my porter and I as he wheeled my luggage along the trodden wood path that lead to the bulbous white pod where I would be spending the night. A plastic dome with a clear roof to the endless desert sky, Panoramic # 7 was loaded with all the comforts of home - a washroom with shower, king size bed and AC, thank Allah. The pods are one of two accommodation offerings (safari tents are also up for grabs in varying sizes and price points) at Memories Aicha Luxury Desert Camp.
