Small Lulo Orange + Feijoa Green Throw

Zuahaza

$295.00

This blanket is a perfect throw for the living room or nursery. Featuring lulo oranges and gorgeous feijoa mint greens and blues, this softer color combination brings calmness and warmth to any room.

Zuahaza's new home collection, Hichu, meaning cold in the Muisca language, was inspired by the fauna and flora found in the snow-capped mountains of the Paramos and Andean forests in Colombia. Both regions were sacred to the Muisca people, and now they provide drinking water to some of the biggest cities in our country. Although they are very important habitats to preserve and care for, unfortunately, today many of these delicate ecosystems are endangered because of cattle raising and mining activities.

Through the Hichu Collection, Zuahaza pays homage to these ancient mountains and forests, while raising awareness about the need to preserve these landscapes. Hichu is a curated selection of pillows, throws, scarfs, baskets, and rugs that inspire us to bring wholesome materials and processes into our home spaces, thus reflecting on the beauty of these precious ecosystems.

All Zuahaza products have been tested to be colorfast. However, natural dyes compared to synthetic dyes tend to fade in brightness with time, so please follow our wash instructions to ensure you enjoy your product for many years.

Zuahaza assures you that your product won’t run dye if you wash it carefully by hand with a PH neutral soap. Due to the natural dyes used in your products, coloured water may run on the first washes, especially with indigo dyed fabric. This is completely normal and won’t stain other fabrics.

Air dry only! This will avoid shrinking and felting.

Meet the Maker

Zuahaza

A team of women from diverse cultural backgrounds sharing one national territory, and one common mission: to preserve and revitalize our traditional crafts through collaborative design and knowledge exchange.

The Inspiration

Zuahaza means “my sister” in the Muisca language of the people who lived in the Cundiboyacense mountain region of Colombia. As a social enterprise, Zuahaza strives to embody collective sisterhood between women in Colombia. Following an era of intense conflict, which continues to shape and affect Colombia today, Zuahaza seeks to participate in the peacemaking efforts to reunite and heal our country.

The Impact

Zuahaza strives to connect women from across Colombia, and to create unique products that reflect our diversity, history and dreams as statements of the unity and peace to come from Colombia. This is what sisterhood means to them.
