Korissa co-founders found inspiration to seek ways to alleviate poverty, increase social responsibility through fair trade and strengthen the personal skills of the women who suffered gender violence in the slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Paired with a goal of offering environmentally and socially responsible handmade goods, they are encouraging the modern shopper to purchase consciously.
Every Knot is handwoven by fair trade artisans whose hopes and dreams are put into each thread as they work who are committed to consuming less and being more conscious about waste by using eco-friendly, sustainable materials and forms of production. These artisans are also able to find financial independence and self-sufficiency. provides training for new artisans and provides job opportunities for disadvantaged women who live in a rural area.
Korissa Savar Baskets are made of 100% natural fibre - raw jute and seagrass. Every Knot is handwoven by fair trade artisans whose hopes and dreams are put into each thread as they work. Each product is designed and curated by Korissa, sustainably handmade by Fair trade artisans in Bangladesh. Due to the handcrafted nature, slight variation will occur in design, colour, and size.
